Go to the Federal Student Aid website to start researching now.  Scholarships are gifts. They don't need to be repaid. There are thousands of them, offered by schools, employers, individuals, private companies, nonprofits, communities, religious groups, and professional and social organizations.  Topics covered on this page include:

The College Board Opportunity Scholarships Program guides students through the steps for building your college list and applying for college. Scholarships are awarded through monthly drawings to students who complete the steps. Complete all six steps to be eligible for a $40,000 scholarship. Be sure to check out the helpful video inside.

LULAC National Scholarship Fund (LNSF)

Description: Scholarship is open to incoming Hispanic college freshmen from underserved communities who are U.S. citizens, legal permanent residents, or granted Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA).
 
Worldstudio AIGA Scholarships

Description: Scholarship is open to incoming and current undergraduate students who are in a design or art discipline and intend to pursue that discipline as a career. While the scholarship is open to everyone, minority status is a significant factor considered in jury decisions.

Description: Award is open to 4-H members/recent alums who are between the ages of 15 and 19 years of age.

Description: Scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors who reside in California, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Texas, or Washington and plan to attend a college in one of those states. Applicant must have at least a 3.0 GPA and have a household income at or below the Low Income Level.
